Have been negotiating with McElveen Buick Summerville over the holidays on a new car. Found out this morning they are cutting wages for many long time employees by 25% (just after Christmas). Will not go back into this dealership.

They sold me a previously sold, wrecked car and passed it off as new. Found out from another Buick dealer about the damage. The dealer will not pay for the repair. They were rude and lied about several things. Unfortunatly, I came in from another state. If you want a fair deal and want to be treated with respect, "THIS IS NOT THE DEALER TO COME TOO".

Joel Hopkins of Credit Country Motors, a subsidiary of McElveen, is a LIAR and CHEAT. It is apparent in both his professional and personal life. Tax issues, prostitutes, etc. Ask around in Holly Hill unless they cover for him.

Terrible place. Extremely shady. The people there will try to take you for all you have. Went to get my car repaired at their auto shop. Needed a new blowing motor and a new headlight. Get there and find out the headlight was about 100 more dollars than they told me and the blowing motor was about 850. I told them to just put the headlight in only to find out that there weren't even any bulbs in the replacement headlight. I went to the parts counter to find out the bulbs were conveniently behind the counter ready for me to throw another 60 dollars down on them. Very suspicious if you ask me. After this I was fed up and told them to just put my old busted headlight back in. The lady working the counter became very rude with me, she actually threw my keys onto the counter instead of handing them to me. The shop I went to later was able to fix my AC for about 200 less than what McElveen quoted me. seriously, avoid this place at all cost, they will try to rob you.

Got there they helped me find something in my budget. The financing wasn't great but with my credit I felt like they did okay. A week later I get a call telling me to come sign a new contract because now some local company is going to finance the car. Bumped the payments up $50 and changed the price of the vehicle. I really liked my sales person Jay but the finance guy Howard Stall was extremely rude. Yelling and hanging up the phone on other staff members as I sat in his office signing papers. I will never buy from them again. It's a huge dealership but they're just as shady and unethical as the fly by night dealerships.

When we went to McElveen to buy a truck we thought that the process was going fine. We had chosen a color but in the process we changed our mind and they told us that we would not get the same deal on red instead of white for the same truck. Why I will never know. After the deal started we were going to trade another car we had in on the truck but they told us that we owed more on the car than they would pay so we decided to keep the car and buy the truck. The payments actually came out better doing this. We came to get our license tag in about a month and it was the same tag as the car. They had not thrown away the old paperwork and used it to transfer the tags from our car to the truck. This meant that I had no tags on my car. It took us two months to get tags for our car. We had to pay taxes on the car to get new tags. McElveen was no help in this situation. They did not know what to do. I thought they were a car dealership, shouldn't they know what to do. Don't buy from them. They will rip you off if they can.

I was disrespected/embarrassed as a customer. I bought a gmc in 2007 n in 2010 the dealership is SHIT with the assholes above the salesman to the finance liar. After I left I was called 4 times by people at the dealership in 2 days They were more worried about selling a vehicle instead of how I was treated as a customer. To bad doug mcleveen ( owner) doesn't know how his customers are being treated. I was lied to by 4 different people there in 4.5 hours. So sad to bad never again will I shop mcleveen in Summerville.

Do not buy from Mcelveen, they are the reason why people say car dealerships are shasty! Everything started off good. Got the SUV I wanted; quoted at a fairly decent price after some back and forth negoations. Thought everything was good until 2 weeks/300 miles later when they decided to call me up and rise the price on the SUV and said that I needed to put more money down (after they offerd me 0 down initally -- which I did not take I wanted to put some money down to drop the payment)or else I would lose the truck. So I took it back to them cause that was bulls&*t, upon my arrival they decided to threaten me and exchange HEATED words. Long Story Short... DONT BUY FROM McELVEEN!

McElveen is great. I have bought three cars from them in ten years and about to go see them about a fourth one. They are wonderful. It's the only dealership in town as far as I'm concerned.

This was the worst experience a person could have. I am currently taking a quality class at trident tech and there are so many things that mcelveen is doing wrong maybe they should take a look at park place lexus and benchmark there efforts since they did win the Malcolm Balrige Quality Award I doubt if Mcelveen is even familiar with such award.

I have less than perfect credit and needed a car that would work for my family. The staff shot me straight, told me exactly what I needed for down payment and got me exactly what I was looking for. Very well done guys! Thank you for not playing any games and helping me find the perfect car at a great price! Dale

Twice now, Mcelveen so-called "guaranteed financing" is a fraud, and when I offered money upfront, apparently they felt it was a good time to up the down payment requirement. I was fed a bunch of b.s. of how they loved the fire department and what we do b.s. Just more shady salesmenship, but the reality came true when they did NOTHING to help me get the vehicle we needed for our family. They made a big mistake because I came in honest, and left pissed off. So, I will make sure I refer NO ONE to this dealership, at any location, and do my best to sell their name in the ground.
