Personally, I have not had to deal with Pipkins luckilly because I have heard multiple horror stories about the dealership. I can not speak for all the stories, but I can verify the two tremendously negative experiences that both my best friend and fiance share.
My best friend, Jane, purchased a used car from Pipkin. She was very excited about her purchase until the next day when the car was acting strangely. She took it to the shop and they told her that the car couldn't be driven anymore. They encouraged her to pick out another used car. Out of the small selection, she chose a Ford Focus. Two weeks afterward, this new car was having problems. In fact, in stalled out while she was driving on a busy road. The car was towed from the street to the dealership where the crew said they wouldn't have time to even look at it until the next week. They also had the audacity to pressure her to pay full price for repairs despite the fact she was merely two weeks into her month warranty. She did, however, have to pay one hundred dollars as a deductible. A couple weeks went by and Jane got her car back, but the same thing happened again within a few days! She had to pay an additional one hundred dollars for them to look again. When she got it back, it is nearly inconceivable that within another week or so, the car was having the same issues with no sympathy from Pipkins.
As if that wouldn't deter you from making a financial commitment with Pipkin, my fiance Robert also is currently losing his hair over troubles with this dealership.
Robert bought a Suburu at another location, but unfortunately had to have some huge repairs after it over heated. Robert was expecting the worst, but they had relatively good news. All he needed was a new alternator and radiator. Robert had serious reservations about this news assuming the car was dead for good without a new engine in addition to these parts. He had good reason to be cautious as well. A new car would be in the same price range as getting a new engine, alternator, and radiator. After speaking with multiple Pipkin's staff members, the crew finally convinced him that for $800 the car would be running as good as new and there would be no further repairs needed. They were extremely confident and even slightly patronizing when explaining that a new alternator and radiator were the only things standing in his way of the open road.
He agreed over the phone to pay the $800 for a desperately needed running car. Robert was flabbergasted when they called and told him that he would need a new engine before the car would run again. Only a matter of days before, the very same people told him otherwise.
Now, he is presently trying to work something out only to be disappointed in the lack of any allegiance to customer service, a trait reflected among multiple representatives of the Pipkin's team.
